We're excited to announce a new live web show / podcast for vegetable growers: The Vegetable Beet. If you listened to What's Killing my Kale from UMN Extension or the Great Lakes Vegetable Producers Network series, this new project is an evolution of that. The series is hosted by the Great Lakes Vegetable Working Group - a group of vegetable Extension educators and researchers across the Midwest and Great Lakes regions.
The Vegetable Beet is a weekly live web series (think webinar but less formal and without the slides) where we'll discuss a new topic each week relevant to growers. The show will play live at 11:30 central time, and growers can join in to ask questions. Each show will be recorded as a podcast for later listening.
Topics will include:
March 3: Lessons learned from COVID: preparing for the 2021 growing season
March 10: Choosing transplant media for healthy vegetables
March 17: Preparing your high tunnel soils for the growing season
March 24: Best practices for hot water treating seed
You can join the live sessions each week by visiting www.glveg.net/listen, and you can review recorded episodes at the same site.
